Heroes' XP Level
I have just received my first heroes after travelling my Tyrian to Elona and I am trying to level them all up to Level 20. My query is this:
Is it possible to determine what amount of XP a hero has and what amount of XP is needed to get he/she to the next level (as we can do with our own characters)? I am currently farming in the Southern Shiverpeaks to try to get them all up to Level 20 and I would like to know whether what I am doing is successful and at what rate are they increasing levels. Thanks |

Unfortunately this is not possible outside the hard levels. There was a suggestion thread for it a while ago but that died off. They gain XP at the same rate you do, and also receive quest reward/mission reward XP.

they gain XP MUCH faster than you do. approximately 5 times as fast. but they cannot level up beyond your level. just do some canthan quests and they level up real fast.

If that's so then how come I took a lvl 15 assassin with 3 lvl 15 heroes into Wajjun Bazaar and all 4 leveled at the same time for all 5 levels?

If you're level 15, and your heroes are level 15, they can't level until you do. But if you're level 18, and they are level 15, they will more than likely hit level 20 at the same time you do.

as long as a hero is below your level, they get xp at 5x the normal rate

I do the Consulate Docks mission over and over again. As it makes your hero's have the same amount of HP as a level 20. Doing the bonus aswell and killing everything my hero's level mighty fast. But the fastest way is to do lots of quests with your better hero's (i use 2 SF ele's and a monk) and just swop your "lesser" heros in before you take the reward. When you stack lots of completed quests together, and take the reward in one swoop, your Hero's can level fast as. Even better just to take them on the quests with you ^^
Oh and I recommend Cantha or Elona questing, I tried farming in SS, but that is relativly slow compared to others, and mighty boring and hard if you use lvl 10 heros! |

Do Heroes continue to gain XP after they're dead, if the party continues to kill critters?

Do heroes get xp from missions that your character has already done (but they haven't) or those that your character hasn't done either?
When my tyrian character got their heroes (the standard package: koss, dunky, melonni, jin, and tahl), I went back to Ascalon and did the missions all the way into the jungle (they're currently camping at Riverside). I'd figure they'd get experience after LA with my hero since he's not done it yet, but how about my older characters that have already done it; would they (heroes) get xp from completing the mission for "their" first time? |

Thanks for all of the responses.
My main Tyrian char is already maxed so my query was aimed at determining whether my farming techniques were working or not and at what speed. It is rather disappointing that you are unable to see this particular statistic (given we can see it on our characters and you can see nearly everything else in the hero's stat bar). Further queries: I assume that if I do not receive XP in a fight then neither will my heroes? Is this so even if the particular moster is within their individual XP-gaining band but not necessarily mine? eg I have a hero at level 11 to my level 20. If I die, will my heroes still receive XP? If they die, will they still receive XP (eg. if later resurrected)? How do people actually KNOW that heroes level up 5x faster than us? (apart form A-Net marketing material, that is). Has this ever been tested? When they reach Level 20, do heroes continue to gain 5 times XP or does it plateau out? If so, their amounts of available skill points will sky-rocket. Thank you. I am still trying to come to terms with effective hero management issues (eg, skills, items, gear, XP, fighting, aggroing etc) |

Leveling heroes really is not a problem, just drag them along everywhere you go.

Is that counting the heroes you receive at a higher level or did they level up past a player character? For example, a level 10 Prophecies toon would receive some level 15 heroes.
